Speak Easy

Coffeeshop Speak Easy was founded in 1982 and was originally located at Oudebrugsteeg 4 in The heart of the Red Light district.

In 2013, coffeeshop Speak Easy closed their doors due to the 1012 project of the Amsterdam government. The intention was to clean up The Red Light district by decreasing the number and shut down a number of coffeeshops.

After the closure of Speak Easy, the owners went searching for a new location in the city and after about a year they managed to find premises at Eerste Oosterparkstraat 47 in Amsterdam East. The coffeeshop officially reopened in November 2014.
