Grey Area

Grey Area coffeeshop is located on Oude Leliestraat which is a small side street between Singel and Herengracht. This is a very nice area of the city and quite popular with tourists. This is area houses mainly smaller shops and boutiques and Grey Area is no different. It is 1 of the smallest coffeeshops you will ever see. There is only enough room for around 10 people and for large parts of the day there is a decent size queue lined into the street. Especially from opening time, but people do not mind as Grey Area is one of the best coffeeshops in the city. For quality and consistency.

Owned by 2 Americans friends who certainly know their weed. These guys have won many awards over the years and have some top quality strains on the menu. A personal favourite is 'Silver Bubble' which has won a few awards and been available for numerous years. Grey Area is regarded as one of the best in town and although one of the smallest shops in size, it is definitely one the largest in stature. A trip to Grey Area should always be on your list when visiting Amsterdam.

The walls are lined with stickers and papers with messages on from people all over the world. Grey Area is certainly one of those coffeeshops that get their fair share of famous visitors with the likes of Willie Nelson, Ed Rosenthal, Flavor Flav and Snoop Dogg all making appearances over the years. B-Real and the Cypress Hill guys regularly visiting here whenever they are in the city.
